Our mission: To provide high quality, comprehensive early care and education for all children.
The Child Nursery Centers is a not for profit 501(c) (3) organization
founded in 1897. No other early learning program in the Pikes Peak region
offers families such comprehensive and affordable services.
Over one third of our children participate in the Colorado Child Care
Assistance Program (CCCAP),
which provides financial assistance to families living at or below 185%
of poverty. Over 65% of the children we serve are from single parent households,
primarily women, who are working or going to school. Tuition costs are
determined using a sliding scale. Our student population spans the socio-economic
spectrum and is ethnically diverse.
Over the last century we have grown from one center serving 50 children
to five centers serving almost 400 children daily. The Historic
Day Nursery, which is our largest Center and houses our corporate
offices, is listed in the National
Register of Historic Places. View

Child Nursery Centers offers the highest quality care and education all
day and throughout the year. All of our Centers are open from 6:30 a.m.
to 6:00 p.m. Monday through
Friday. We also manage the Court
Care program for the Fourth Judicial District and operate the Home
Network Program, a family child care home project in El Paso County.
We have been a United Way Member Agency since 1922.
