The heart of our early care and education program rests with our qualified
staff of professionals who nurture and care for youngsters. Teachers
at CNC have a broad range of educational degrees and credentials.
Ongoing staff development plays a critical role in providing these teachers
with the tools necessary to develop and maintain high quality programs.
The Professional Development Plan at CNC keeps pace with the latest research
in child development and learning theories. We believe that effective
professional development occurs as a result of teachers setting goals
for themselves and receiving the support they need to translate theory
into practice. Components of our Professional Development Plan include:
- Orientations for new staff and substitute teachers
- Medical, health and safety training including First Aid, CPR, Universal
Precautions, and more
- Curriculum Development including targeted training on The Storybook
Journey and other important topics relevant to children learning
- Leadership Training for Center Director
- In-house workshops explore relevant topics pertaining to child development from infant to school age
- On-going Professional Development including Ounce Scale and Work Sampling System Classes
- Support for teachers pursuing degrees in Early Child Education
